Breaking news of the day at the UN and around the world: new attacks in the Strait of Hormuz have killed at least two sailors, the monthly number of civilian casualties in Ukraine has reached its highest level since April 2022, almost two thousand cases of Ebola have been confirmed in DR Congo, the Secretary-General begins a visit to China.

Conflict in the Middle East

The International Maritime Organization (IMO) condemned new attacks on merchant ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which killed at least two sailors. Secretary-General’s visit to China

On Wednesday, the UN Secretary-General begins a visit to China, where he has a number of official events planned. During the trip, Antonio Guterres will visit the environmental complex and also meet with participants in UN programs and local partners. The Secretary General will take part in the opening ceremony of the World Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Shanghai. In addition, he will speak at the opening of the meteorological forum, which will be held as part of the World Conference.
