Over the past few days, children have again been killed and injured as a result of attacks in the Russian Federation and Ukraine. This was stated on Tuesday by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), calling on all parties to comply with international humanitarian law.
As noted by UNICEF, on Sunday in the Belgorod region of Russia, a 13-year-old girl was killed and two other girls – seven and nine years old – were injured as a result of a drone strike near a children’s playground. In addition, according to incoming information, Monday in the Krasnodar region, as a result of the attack, seven people were killed, including three children, and about 40 people were injured.
It is reported that at least six children have been killed in Ukraine over the past seven days. Among them is an eight-year-old boy, as well as at least three children who died along with their entire family in the Dnepropetrovsk region, and two girls aged five and ten in the Sumy region. During the same period, at least 19 children were reportedly injured, the UN agency noted.
