Last night, Russia’s massive attack on Kiev and the Kiev region using drones and missiles lasted seven hours, UN Humanitarian Coordinator for Ukraine Matthias Schmale said on Sunday.
According to him, UN employees, like all residents of Kyiv, woke up in the middle of the night “from the terrifying thunderous sounds of war.”
“Residential buildings and markets were damaged, and scattered debris caused fires throughout the city,” he said he.
“At least one civilian has been reported killed,” Schmale said. Dozens of people were injured. Rescuers continue to clear the rubble.
The humanitarian coordinator stressed that as a result of the ongoing attacks, Ukrainian civilians are constantly living in conditions of great danger.
“Widespread violence against civilians must stop,” Shmale said.
