“Nowruz is a celebration of new beginnings: the beginning of a new year, the arrival of spring and the rebirth of nature.” The UN Secretary General addressed these words to Muslims around the world on the occasion of International Nowruz Day.
António Guterres emphasized that Nowruz unites millions of people of different generations and nations.
“In these times of difficult trials, Nowruz promotes dialogue, good neighborliness and reconciliation, – said the head of the UN. – It helps to raise the profile of the goals and values of the United Nations, such as peace, human rights and dignity. So let us all be guided by the spirit of Nowruz!”
The Secretary General conveyed his congratulations to all those celebrating Nowruz and wished that this holiday would bring peace, good health and happiness.
