The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reports that the strikes in Ukraine on Thursday and Friday killed and injured civilians, and damaged homes and other civilian infrastructure.
The Dnepropetrovsk region was most seriously affected. Strikes were also recorded in the Kharkov, Donetsk, Kherson, Odessa, Sumy and Zaporozhye regions.
OCHA is also concerned that the fighting is impeding humanitarian activities. Yesterday, the organization Save the Children reported that its office in the city of Sumy was damaged as a result of an air bomb attack. This is the second attack on the organization’s Ukrainian facilities in less than a week.
On Wednesday in Kherson, a drone attack injured two employees of a local non-governmental organization working with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Despite the growing danger, the UN and its partners continue to do everything possible to provide emergency assistance to people affected in as a result of attacks.
