Strikes on Ukraine’s frontline regions over the weekend resulted in civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure. This was reported by UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric, citing employees of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.
As a result of two attacks on March 8 and 10, the city of Mirnograd in the Donetsk region in the east of the country was particularly damaged, Dujarric said. It was reported that civilians were injured and houses inhabited by about 200 families were damaged. Also, according to local authorities, the attacks caused damage to housing, hospitals and schools in other settlements of the Donetsk region.
Humanitarian organizations provide construction materials to the victims to restore housing. According to the UN representative, about 900 residents of the region received such assistance.
In addition, over the past three days, houses, schools and other civilian infrastructure in the Kharkov, Dnieper, Odessa and Kherson regions have been damaged as a result of shelling, Dujarric noted.
