The World Health Organization (WHO) humanitarian warehouse in Dnipro, Ukraine, was hit three times, two of them within one day. All emergency supplies stored there, intended for medical institutions in the front-line areas, were destroyed. This was announced today by the WHO.
No casualties reported.
“This warehouse was storing supplies intended to provide vital health services to frontline areas,” said Hans Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe. “Destroying it means we will have less medicine, less equipment and less ability to care for the sick and wounded.”

The first attack on the warehouse took place on August 3, after which the WHO declared it unsafe and began removing supplies. On 7 August, immediately after the WHO staff member and several drivers had left the site, the site was hit again, resulting in the direct destruction of WHO supplies. Several hours later, a third strike destroyed the building.
Before the warehouse was destroyed, employees managed to move 130 of the approximately 300 pallets of cargo to another location. WHO continues to assess the extent of the damage. Before the attacks began, the warehouse contained approximately $500,000 worth of supplies.
“These attacks must stop immediately,” Kluge stressed.
