The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), citing local authorities, reported that Kryvyi Rih came under fire yesterday evening, killing and wounding civilians, including children. Humanitarian workers are providing support to the victims.
Local authorities also reported attacks in the Donetsk region, which resulted in damage to a dam in the town of Kurakhovo, located near the front line.
During the evacuation of civilians, a humanitarian organization’s vehicle was seriously damaged by shelling, but there were no casualties among the evacuees or humanitarian workers.
Amid the escalation of hostilities in the frontline areas, authorities announced additional mandatory evacuations of civilians in the Kharkiv region. Over the past four days, about 1,200 people have left the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions.
Recall that almost 4 million people throughout Ukraine have left their homes and found refuge in other parts of the country. Another 6.7 million people have left Ukraine.
In turn, UN Deputy High Commissioner for Refugees Kelly Clements, after a visit to Ukraine, said that the needs of the civilian population are growing against the backdrop of intense attacks and as the next winter season approaches.
