UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown condemned the shelling of a residential area in Krivoy Rog, which caused damage to civilians and infrastructure on Wednesday.
“I am shocked by the consequences of yesterday’s strike on Krivoy Rog in the Dnieper region, which killed and injured civilians, including children, in a residential area of a densely populated city,” Brown said in a statement.& nbsp;
Educational institutions were also damaged as a result of the shelling, and numerous residential multi-storey buildings were damaged, the UN representative added.
Humanitarian workers on the ground are providing psychological support and materials to repair damaged housing for the victims, she said.
“Strikes attacks on Ukrainian cities by the Russian Armed Forces lead to enormous human losses,” Brown said, emphasizing the need to respect international humanitarian law.
“Civilians and civilian objects, including residential homes and educational institutions must be protected,” she said.
