Sappers from the FSD organization, whose office came under attack in Kharkov. Ukraine: the office of a humanitarian organization was hit by a strike in Kharkov Peace and Security
Early this morning, the office of UN partner Swiss Mine Action Foundation (FSD) in Kharkov was significantly damaged by an airstrike. This was reported by representatives of UN humanitarian agencies in Ukraine.
According to available information, no one was injured, but the building, as well as vehicles and equipment, suffered significant damage.
“I was shocked to wake up this morning to photos of our partner FSD’s office in Kharkov being destroyed by the strike. FSD carries out critical humanitarian demining programs in Ukraine to ensure the safety of civilians. Attacks on civilian infrastructure and humanitarian institutions are prohibited and must stop,” said the head of the UN World Food Program (WFP) in Ukraine, Richard Reagan.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warns that the destruction has impacted the Fund’s ability to provide critical assistance in the war-torn region.
“Civilians, civilian infrastructure, humanitarian workers and property are protected by international humanitarian law,” OCHA reminds.
