Center of Kharkov. Ukraine: civilians were injured as a result of massive shelling Peace and Security
The day before, as a result of a large-scale wave of attacks throughout Ukraine, civilians, including children, were injured. The UN press service reported this with reference to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).
According to local authorities, several children were injured as a result of an attack on a school playground in Kharkov, and children were also reportedly injured in the Dnieper and Kropyvnytsky districts. Several educational institutions and a hospital in Zaporozhye were also damaged, UN partners on the ground said.
Also yesterday, authorities and power plant operators reported critical damage important energy facilities in the western and central regions of the country. According to the grid operator, a total of nine regions experienced power outages, with power shortages still ongoing.
Humanitarian organizations are helping affected populations. They provide psychological support and distribute materials for the repair of housing damaged as a result of night strikes in Kharkov and Zaporozhye, as well as in the Kyiv and Kropyvnytskyi regions.
