Today a humanitarian convoy delivered aid to Kherson. This was announced at a briefing for journalists in New York by UN Press Secretary Stephane Dujarric, commenting on the latest humanitarian operations in Ukrainian territories.
Today’s mission was led by UN Coordinator Matthias Schmale. Residents of Kherson received hygiene kits, solar lamps and portable power stations.
Dujarric also reported that attacks today and yesterday in frontline areas of Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions resulted in civilian casualties and damage to residential buildings and a school.
“Meanwhile, ongoing fighting has also forced authorities in the Kharkiv region to expand the mandatory evacuation to approximately 7,000 people, most of whom are elderly,” the spokesman said.
Humanitarian organizations continue to support affected populations across Ukraine. This year, they have delivered aid to more than 7 million people.
