Over the past two weeks, almost 40 percent of Gaza’s population has been forced to flee their homes, and for many of them this is not the first time they have been forced to relocate. An OCHA post on X said that residents of the enclave are forced to take shelter in makeshift shelters, have to burn garbage to cook food, have no access to clean water, and the existing toilets are unsanitary. 

According to the World Health Organization, cases of infectious diseases, including diarrhea, are rising in Gaza. Experts also suggest that hepatitis A is spreading in the enclave. conditions due to the ongoing displacement of residents of the sector pose a serious risk to their health. 

“In order to urgently solve this problem, we need a flow of humanitarian supplies and ensuring full access to them,” OCHA emphasized. , face shortages of food and clean water.

He noted that WFP is trying to reach as many people as possible with available resources and is using existing food supplies to provide up to 400 thousand hot meals per day throughout Gaza, but this, he says, is not enough to help everyone in need.
