“This cycle of horrific violence cannot continue. The Iranian people and their demands for fairness, equality and justice must be heard,” Lawrence said.  

“All cases of killings and violence against protesters and other human rights violations must be investigated in accordance with international norms and standards, and those responsible must be held accountable,” he added. he. 

Hospitals in Iran are reportedly overwhelmed amid a brutal crackdown on protests. The Internet and other telecommunications are shut down in the country, so it is very difficult to verify information coming from there. The Office of Human Rights calls on the authorities to restore communication. 

According to some reports, Iranian officials have publicly stated that they are speeding up trials and applying the death penalty against protesters. The Office emphasizes that Iranians have the right to peaceful demonstrations.
