Destruction after attacks in Dnieper, Ukraine, April 2025. Ukraine: two children were killed as a result of shelling in the Dnepropetrovsk region Peace and Security
In the Samara district of the Dnepropetrovsk region, on Sunday night two boys, 11 and 14 years old, were reportedly killed as a result of shelling. This was announced today by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).
“The lives of children and their families have once again been destroyed as a result of attacks on residential areas,” reads a UNICEF publication on the X platform.
Meanwhile, humanitarian organizations continue to help people fleeing areas near the front line. Staff meet evacuees at train stations, provide them with food, emergency supplies and hygiene kits, and help them get to safe shelters.
In October, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), with financial support from the King Salman Center for Rescue and Humanitarian Action, donated more than 2 thousand hygiene kits for women and girls in the Dnieper, Kherson and Nikolaev regions.
As the UN notes, civilians, including women and children, are bearing the brunt of the conflict, while shelling of residential areas and civilian infrastructure continues in many regions countries.
