UN humanitarian agencies say attacks across Ukraine have killed and injured several civilians over the past three days. The majority of civilian casualties were recorded in the Kherson, Sumy, Donetsk and Kharkov regions. 

“Our colleagues from humanitarian organizations also note that Ukraine’s energy grid remains under constant strain,” UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said at a briefing in New York.

“Substations, power plants and oil storage facilities were damaged in the Chernigov, Kharkov, Odessa and Donetsk regions. The attacks on them temporarily cut off power to hundreds of thousands of households and businesses,” he added.

With the onset of cold weather, attacks on critical infrastructure will negatively impact the already dire humanitarian situation in the country. Dujarric stressed that UN agencies, along with their partners, will continue to support the response to the crisis. vulnerable families throughout Ukraine,” said Dujarric.
