Critical infrastructure, including hospitals and clinics, was repeatedly fired from the Russian Federation. Against the backdrop of this violence, Yunfp plays a key role in ensuring the access of women and girls living near the front line, to important services in the field of sexual and reproductive health. 62 > With the support of Yunfp, there is a program aimed at providing women with consultations on family planning. According to Inna, since the beginning of the war, she notices an alarming trend: young women do not pay due attention to their sexual and reproductive health. “They come for emergency contraception or to a general consultation – and go. They are not yet interested in deeper talk about health, ”she says. Prolonged stress has a serious impact on women’s health. Inna notes an increase in the number of cases of irregular menstruation in young women and early menopause – all this is a consequence of life under a constant threat. “This experience – explosions, fear – left a difficult mark. We observe an increase in the number of cases of diseases, including endometriosis and oncology, ”she emphasized. The hope for a demographic restoration ongoing war created serious challenges for Ukraine not only in the field of security, but also in demography. She aggravated the already existing negative trends – low birth rate, emigration and aging of the population. Family planning helps to increase the stability of Ukraine to these challenges. Wide access to information and services allows people, especially women, to make reasonable decisions about their body and future. This leads to improvement of health, a higher level of education and greater participation in the economy – which means it contributes to the development of human capital. ~ ~ 60 > when society has strong human capital, it becomes more productive, capable of innovation and adaptation to demographic changes, and therefore – to prosperity. despite difficulties, Inna believes in the best.
