On Friday and Thursday, as a result of fighting in frontline areas and attacks in several cities of Ukraine, civilians were killed and injured, and residential buildings, hospitals and schools were damaged. This was reported on Friday by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, citing local authorities, as reported by the UN press service.
According to this data, about 600 apartment buildings, as well as 30 healthcare and educational institutions, lost heating in Kyiv. In addition, in Kherson, a vehicle belonging to a humanitarian organization was damaged during the transportation of patients to the hospital. There are no reports of casualties.
In Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih, humanitarian workers supported the work of local emergency response services, helping them provide primary medical and psychological assistance to those affected by the shelling, and also provided materials to repair damaged housing.
According to the state energy company of Ukraine, specialists are repairing damaged facilities and doing everything possible to stabilize the power grid.
The UN recalls that Ukraine’s energy infrastructure is currently being restored after damage sustained as a result of 12 large-scale Russian attacks carried out in 2024. These attacks, it is noted, led to a serious power shortage.
