Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaks at the UN General Assembly general debate. Netanyahu: ‘Israel will win this battle’ UN
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he had not planned to attend the UN General Assembly general debate this year because of the war, but decided to come to “expose the lies that many speakers have told about Israel from this rostrum.” Relatives of several Israeli hostages arrived with him at the UN.
“War for the Existence of the State of Israel”
“We are dealing with brutal enemies who seek to destroy not only us, but also our common civilization, plunging humanity into a dark age of terror and tyranny,” Netanyahu said. “We must choose between Iranian aggression and historic reconciliation between Arabs and Jews,” he added.
Hamas Attack
He recalled that on October 7, thousands of militants “with the support of Iran” invaded Israel and brutally killed more than 1,200 people: “They raped women and cut off the heads of men, burned babies alive, tore their parents to pieces in front of their children and vice versa. It was a repetition of the Nazi Holocaust. Hamas kidnapped 251 people as hostages.”
According to the prime minister, 117 were returned alive. “We will not rest until we free everyone,” Netanyahu said, asking the relatives of some of the hostages who had arrived with him at the UN to rise from their seats.
After the brutal attack by the militants, Israel, as the prime minister said, was forced to repel “attacks from six sides organized by Iran.” Hezbollah has fired more than 8,000 rockets at Israel in recent months, the spokesman said.
Trade routes
He added that Israel and its partners are building a land bridge between the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean. Netanyahu showed an image of the route, calling it a “map of blessing,” and then showed a “map of curse,” which has no trade routes and no room for Israel.
The role of Iran
He called on everyone to fight Iran, which is trying to “impose its radicalism on everyone outside the Middle East, and to this end, it finances terrorist networks and builds ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads.” The prime minister warned that the entire world must fight Iran’s nuclear program, saying “Israel stands with the Iranian people in their fight against tyranny.”
Humanitarian aid in Gaza
Netanyahu says Hamas terrorists are “stealing food supplies coming into Gaza” to make money. But Israel, he added, has developed a plan to combat the phenomenon.
Gaza’s Future
The prime minister warned that Israel plans to “completely finish off Hamas” because otherwise “the terrorists will regroup and start attacking Israel again.”
