UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Peacebuilding Rosemary DiCarlo. UN Deputy Secretary General will travel to Switzerland for the Peace Summit on Ukraine Peace and Security
At the invitation of the President of the Swiss Confederation, UN Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Peacebuilding Rosemary DiCarlo will travel to Bürgenstock, Switzerland, where she will take part as an observer in the Peace Summit dedicated to the peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
This was announced at a briefing in New York on Friday by UN press service representative Farhan Haq. “The UN reaffirms its support for a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, which would be consistent with the UN Charter, international law and relevant resolutions of the General Assembly,” added Haq.
Previously press service The UN announced that the United Nations will take part in the summit as an observer. Today it became known that Deputy Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Peacebuilding Rosemary DiCarlo will represent the world organization at this forum. Her speech at the summit is not planned.
According to Swiss authorities, delegations from 92 countries and eight organizations have confirmed their participation in the forum. In addition, it is reported that 57 heads of state and government will attend the summit. The meeting will take place in the Swiss resort town of Bürgenstock, located near Lucerne.
