The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs reports that night attacks on Kyiv, as well as Odessa and Zaporizhia, have injured civilians, damaged residential buildings and hospitals.
Humanitarian organizations have quickly mobilized and begun to provide assistance to the population. In particular, they are providing people with materials for temporary repairs of damaged windows, which will help keep their apartments warm.
Today and yesterday, authorities also reported dozens of wounded and killed civilians in the frontline areas of Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Kherson, Donetsk, Sumy and Nikolaev regions. Critical civilian infrastructure has been damaged.
The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, Matthias Schmale, has conducted a mission to the Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhia regions. He met with local authorities and partner humanitarian organizations to discuss ways to expand humanitarian support to civilians whose suffering has only worsened with the onset of cold weather.
Schmale called on the international community to continue to support Ukraine.
